Skagit 1109 is the first release from our neighbors and friends at The Bread Lab, who are breeding flavorful varietals that will thrive in our mild maritime climate here in the Skagit Valley. It lends a dark color and packs a distinctive rich wheaty taste that will go well in all of your baked goods. This is a lower gluten flour, making it ideal for blending with other flours.
- For breads, blend in 20% organic 1109 with your bread flour for a rich, caramel color and a show stopping wheaty flavor.
- For pie crusts, blend with Edison or Sequoia to add more color and flavor.
