CORONAVIRUS COVID19 RESPONSE AND CRISIS MANAGEMENT PLAN

Cairnspring Mill’s plan during the current pandemic is to protect our staff and to continue producing clean and healthy food for our customers and community. We are taking additional measures to ensure a safe work environment and products.

Customers & Suppliers

  • Cairnspring Mills is continuing to coordinate with suppliers for maintaining clean and safe raw material and other necessary products. Our local supply chain will prevent disruptions in service.

  • To avoid shortages, consider maintaining backstock for your business.

  • Allow for lead times that support your business operations. Standard turnaround time on bulk orders that are 2,500lbs or more via LTL is 2 weeks. For FTL orders there is a 3 week turnaround from receiving the order until shipment.

Visitors & Essential Services

  • Only essential business associates will be allowed in the facility by appointment only.  

  • No visitors or tours will be allowed until further notice.

  • Any customers picking up product at the mill will need to wear a protective mask and maintain a 6ft distance. You may be asked to load the product into your car if the production team deems the situation to be unsafe.

  • If you are sick please do not come to our facility until you are symptom free for at least 72 hours.

Food Safety & Crisis Management

  • The CDC says “currently there is no evidence to support transmission of COVID19 associated with food”.

  • Key training along with roles and responsibilities have been tested during Crisis Management planning.

  • We are maintaining a Crisis Management team and contact list in order to effectively respond to any unexpected or crisis event.

  • Our team has implemented increased sanitizing and social distantancing procedures to ensure their safety and that of customers.

Food Production and Distribution

  • We are limiting SKUs in order to maintain productivity and efficiency.

  • Core product inventory levels are the focus for production planning.

  • Our distributors remain operational for delivery and/or pickup of essentials during this time.

  • We ask that any of our customers that can have product delivered by our distributor use those services so that we reduce the risks to our team and customers.


By following recommendations to mitigate Coronavirus Covid19 for everyone supporting our business, as well as third party Food Safety protocols (SQF) - we are hoping to continue minimizing disruption to our business. In the event that a health or food safety issue arises, please feel assured communication will be immediate and decisive.
